Diver Carl Fismer to be the Main Attraction at Treasure Fest 2011
fourth annual Treasure Fest, where you can meet world famous Treasure
Diver, Carl Fismer and witness artifacts hundreds of years old all under
one roof, is going to be held on Saturday and Sunday April 9 and 10th. The
event will take place at De Paula Jewelers, MM 91.2, in Tavernier, the
Upper Florida Keys.
Carl Fismer will be at "DePaulas" telling stories of adventure and pirates.
Capt. Carl "Fizz" Fismer is a leading authority on treasure
salvage. He has worked over 300 shipwrecks. All who attend will have the
privilege of speaking with this living legend and ask questions as they
wish, about his exploits and the artifact.
Maritime Heritage Artist Don Maitz will also be at Treasure Fest with his
fantastic works of art. Don Maitz will bring his hand selected favorite
works of art to Treasure Fest. Don is the artist who created the Captain
Morgan artwork for Captain Morgan Rum. His pictures have been in countless
museums. Don will also be signing copies of his book.
Carol Tedesco, a numismatist, noted photographer, curator, and shipwreck
exhibit producer, will be at Treasure Fest signing copies of her book,
"Treasure Coins of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha and the Santa
Some of the artifacts that will be on display include a large working bell
from the Dutch East India Company. One of only 3 coin clumps in the world,
from the Taj Mahal Wreck, will be on display. Old swords, plates, pottery
& more will also be on display.
Sunken treasure will be on display. Many coins will be available for
purchase. The coins have a 14k gold bezel and make unique pendants,
earrings, bracelets or rings.
Guy Harvey Jewelry will be celebrating Treasure Fest with us. Guy Harvey
Jewelry will have their latest jewelry, including a special pirate
William DePaula will be working with kids of all ages to complete a large
pirate & treasure painting.
As a treat to all kids from 0 to 102, MN Jack Sparrow will be attending
and causing a lot of fun and mischief for all.
